Tottenham Hotspur has completed the signing of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush on loan until the conclusion of the current season. The deal includes an obligation for Tottenham to make the transfer permanent for a fee of £60 million next summer.
Marmoush, a 27-year-old Egyptian international, will reunite with former City teammate Savio in North London. Savio's move to Spurs was finalized earlier this week for an initial fee of £75 million.
"Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and the project was very attractive to me," Marmoush stated. "I've spoken with the head coach [Roberto de Zerbi], I loved what he had to say and I'm sure our passion for the game will go very well together."
Marmoush joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for £59 million and has since scored 16 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions. Despite a promising start, Marmoush's role saw him primarily used as a substitute last season, with Erling Haaland being the preferred central striker. He featured as a second-half substitute in City's Community Shield loss to Arsenal and remained an unused substitute in their recent Premier League victory over Bournemouth.
Tottenham's investment in the current transfer window has been substantial, exceeding £312 million. The club has also signed Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton. Additionally, defenders Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, along with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, have arrived on free transfers.
Reflecting on the new addition, De Zerbi commented, "Omar is exactly the kind of player we want at this club - ambitious, hungry and determined to make a difference. He has incredible attacking quality but what I also love is his desire to improve and to win. He brings pace, intelligence and a real threat in front of goal, and I believe he can take our attacking play to another level."
