Tiger Woods and his design firm, TGR Design, are set to redesign the Tam O’Shanter Country Club on Long Island, a project that will bring new practice facilities, a clubhouse, and a golf performance center to the area. The club has been closed since 2021.

This marks a new chapter for the Long Island course, which was previously closed due to a potential housing development project that fell through after an arsenic discovery. The club was also rocked by a scandal in the early 2010s. Woods' firm is partnering with The Armchair Collective, a private golf company that acquired the land in September.

Woods expressed excitement about the opportunity to create a new golf experience in a region with a rich golf history. "I have great memories of competing on Long Island, especially at Bethpage," Woods said in a statement, referencing his 2002 U.S. Open victory nearby. Brookville Mayor Dan Serota called the project a "remarkable opportunity" for the area.

Woods has not competed since the 2024 Open Championship and missed the Masters tournament earlier this year. He is scheduled to host the Hero World Challenge next month, where he may participate.
