Sunderland is standing by manager Regis Le Bris, despite the team's difficult start to the season. Le Bris joined Sunderland from Lorient in 2024 and led the club to promotion back to the Premier League in his first season.
The following year, he guided the team to a seventh-place finish, securing a spot in the Europa League. This marked Sunderland's first qualification for European competition in 53 years. The team has won two and drawn one of their Europa League league phase matches so far and is scheduled to host Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday.
