Sophia Thomalla, girlfriend of German tennis player Alexander Zverev, has captured attention in a striking red mini dress as Zverev competes in the U.S. Open. Thomalla shared a photo of herself in the bold attire on social media over the weekend, captioning it, "Dressed for the challenge, obviously 💅❤️." She also included a link to the Instagram account for "Are You The One?", the German dating show she hosts.
Thomalla has been present in New York to support Zverev during the tournament. While she is not as active on social media as in the past, she had posted previously to show she was in the city before the competition began.
Zverev has had a challenging path through the early rounds of the U.S. Open. He faced a two-sets-to-one deficit against Italy's Lorenzo Sonego in the first round before mounting a comeback victory. In the second round, he also went the full five sets against France's Quentis Halys, before dominating Alejandro Tabilo of Chile in the third round on September 6, 2026.
He is scheduled to face Italy's Luciano Darderi in the Round of 16 on Monday. The winner of this match will advance to the U.S. Open quarterfinals. With Jannik Sinner not competing in this year's U.S. Open, Zverev is considered to have strong prospects for winning a second major tournament title, following his victory at the French Open earlier in the year.
