The 2027 British Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on July 4, a date that falls on the middle weekend of the Wimbledon Championships. This arrangement aims to prevent a direct clash with the prestigious men's singles final at the tennis tournament.

Bahrain is set to open the 2027 Formula 1 season on March 14, followed by the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix the subsequent weekend. The calendar will feature 24 races, an increase from the current season, and will include 10 sprint races, up from six this year. Following the Middle Eastern races, the series will move to Australia.

Sources indicate that Silverstone circuit officials have agreed to the July 4 date and are confident that the overlap with Wimbledon will not negatively impact attendance. In recent years, the British Grand Prix has coincided with the latter stages of the Wimbledon tournament. Despite this, the 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone drew a record crowd of 564,000 spectators over the race weekend, surpassing the attendance at Adelaide in 1995.

Formula 1 executives intend for Bahrain to serve as the season's starting point, provided geopolitical circumstances permit, rather than relocating the opening race as was done this year with the Bahrain Grand Prix being held in Kuala Lumpur due to ongoing global events. The Monaco Grand Prix is expected to retain its shifted slot in June, moved back one week from its traditional May date.
