Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has described the playing style of new manager Enzo Maresca as "music to my ears," indicating an early positive reception to the Italian's tactics.

Semenyo joined Manchester City from Bournemouth in the January transfer window for a reported £65 million, with interest from several other top clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea. The forward noted that discussions began in early December, and he ultimately decided to join City the following month.

"I owe them everything to be honest," Semenyo said of his former club Bournemouth, crediting them with helping his Premier League career flourish. He also acknowledged the smooth transition facilitated by the management and staff.

Last season, Semenyo scored a total of 21 goals for club and country. He netted the winning goal in the FA Cup final victory over Chelsea, an experience he called a "dream come true," and also contributed to lifting the Carabao Cup.

Reflecting on his move to City, Semenyo stated, "I think for me, I just wanted the next step to be the big one and Manchester City was the option." He recalled a conversation with manager Pep Guardiola, who assured him, "when you come, I am going to make you a better player." Semenyo confirmed that Guardiola's coaching helped him improve in his first five months at the club, though he expressed sadness at Guardiola's departure.
