Sami Zayn is set to compete for the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes and Gunther at Saturday's Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia. The match was booked after an incident during a previous bout where Zayn, serving as special guest referee, made a quick count for Rhodes, leading to an altercation with Gunther.

Zayn expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, telling Fox News Digital that main-eventing a major event in Saudi Arabia, a region with personal significance, is a prime position to be in, short of holding the championship itself. "I don’t think there’s a better spot to be in, except being the champion, which is the goal here," Zayn said.

If Zayn were to win the title, he would become the first WWE world champion of Syrian descent, as his parents emigrated from Syria to Canada. He acknowledged the potential for such a victory to be a significant cultural moment. "I think it would be a big cultural moment, actually," Zayn stated. "I couldn’t have dreamt that this would happen. So, yeah, that would be a pretty big deal I think."

Zayn also touched upon the possibility of facing Jey Uso for the title, particularly in light of The Bloodline's recent reunion on "Raw." He noted the intrigue of the situation given his past involvement with the faction. "I think one way or another it’d be interesting and that would be a really interesting thing," Zayn commented. "I think it would be very, very interesting actually."

Night of Champions is scheduled to take place Saturday at 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN.
