Aryna Sabalenka, the current world No. 1 in tennis, has once again drawn attention at the US Open with a new iteration of her much-discussed outfit. On Wednesday night, Sabalenka took to the court in a black basketball-inspired ensemble that revealed her electric orange sports bra and matching briefs. This appearance follows her opening singles match on Monday, where she wore a similar outfit in bright orange.

Sabalenka explained that the color variations were intentional, developed by sponsor Nike for day and night sessions. "To be honest, I didn't know that I have a day dress," she stated. "I thought I have a black dress with orange underneath. I figured [out] when I went to Nike that I actually have day session and night session, which is just like black and orange for the day."

The player acknowledged the public's reaction to her attire, with some fans taking to social media to criticize the revealing nature of the outfits. One viewer described the look as "streetwalker chic," while another questioned its appropriateness. Sabalenka, however, has brushed off the criticism. "Who cares what people think? I love it," she told reporters.

Sabalenka also elaborated on the inspiration behind her grand slam attire, noting that each outfit is designed to reflect the host city's culture. For the Australian Open, the theme was surfing; for Roland Garros, ballet; and for Wimbledon, cricket. Her New York ensemble draws inspiration from basketball.

This latest appearance comes as Sabalenka aims to defend her US Open title. She has reached the last three US Open finals, winning in 2024 and 2025. The player expressed her affinity for the New York stadium, calling it one of her "favorite stadiums."

Sabalenka's on-court performance leading up to the US Open has seen mixed results, with fourth-round exits in Toronto, Cincinnati, and Wimbledon. Her current world No. 1 ranking is also under pressure, with No. 2 Elena Rybakina in contention to overtake her.

Complementing her on-court gear, Sabalenka wore a significant jewelry set valued at over $400,000. Partnering with New York jeweler Material Good, she has showcased custom pieces throughout the year. The US Open set, featuring sapphire, tourmaline, garnet, zircon, spinel, chrysoberyl, and tanzanite stones, is described as representing the city's "multicultural melting pot heritage."
