LAS VEGAS – WWE wrestler Roxanne Perez has earned the No. 1 contender spot for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship following her victory at AAA Triplemania 34 in Las Vegas on Friday night.
Perez outlasted WWE competitor Nattie, along with AAA stars La Hiedra and Faby Apache, in a competitive match. She will now face the winner of the championship bout between reigning champion Flammer and La Catalina, which is scheduled for Night 2 in Mexico City. The winner of that match will then face Perez at Worlds Collide.
The match saw Perez's opponents initially team up against her, tossing her out of the ring in the early moments. The current champion, Flammer, also became involved, appearing to support La Hiedra. However, Perez managed to turn the tide, pushing La Hiedra into Flammer before delivering her finishing move, Pop Rox, to secure the pinfall victory over La Hiedra.
Following the match, La Hiedra and Flammer were observed in an animated discussion in the ring, suggesting potential friction between the two.
Prior to the event, Perez spoke with OutKick about the challenge ahead. She acknowledged the difficult task but expressed her determination to seize the opportunity. "I have a big opportunity right in front of me that I know I'm gonna take," Perez stated. "I know that I'm gonna go straight to Worlds Collide and become Reina de Reinas champion."
She also expressed respect for her opponents, noting La Hiedra's familiarity with AAA, Nattie's legendary status in WWE, and Faby Apache's legacy in Lucha Libre. "So yeah, I have a lot on my plate right now, but it's nothing that ‘The Prodigy’ can't overcome," Perez added, referring to her wrestling moniker. "‘The Prodigy’ has gone through so much the past 10 years of me wrestling, and if anybody thinks that I'm just gonna let this opportunity slip away, I've been waiting for one opportunity and I finally have it and I'm not gonna let it slip through my fingers."
