Rodri has arrived in Barcelona to complete his transfer from Manchester City, a move reportedly valued at £65.4 million. The midfielder spoke to gathered media upon his arrival, expressing his enthusiasm for the new challenge.

"I'm happy to be here; it's been a few intense days, and I'm thrilled to be here," Rodri stated. "Playing for Barcelona is a dream. We're going for the Champions League and everything else that comes our way."

Rodri is expected to undergo his medical examination on Tuesday and could be officially unveiled by the club as early as Wednesday. He is set to sign a four-year contract, keeping him at Barcelona until 2030. This transfer comes just a month after Rodri captained Spain to World Cup victory.

After a seven-year tenure with Manchester City, Rodri returns to his home country. He reportedly agreed to the terms of the move two weeks prior, informing rivals Real Madrid of his decision not to join them. Initial offers from Barcelona were reportedly below Manchester City's valuation of £68 million, but discussions have progressed to reach the English club's asking price.

Rodri had returned to Manchester from his break after the World Cup on Thursday, traveling from Madrid to Liverpool. He was not part of Manchester City's Community Shield match against Arsenal on Monday. Manchester City is now reportedly looking to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille and seeking another midfielder.
