Rocky Flintoff, son of former England captain Freddie Flintoff, scored his first century for Lancashire on Tuesday, hitting 123 runs off 76 balls against Somerset in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Flintoff, 18, struck 10 fours and seven sixes in his innings as Lancashire posted a total of 443-6 in their 50 overs. He reached his century in 65 balls and shared a 214-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Keaton Jennings, who contributed 156 runs.

Flintoff was eventually dismissed by South African bowler Migael Pretorius, with Archie Vaughan, son of Ashes 2005-winning captain Michael Vaughan, taking the catch. Flintoff made his senior debuts for Lancashire at the age of 16 in the 2024 season. After an injury-affected 2025 campaign, he has been a regular in the One Day Cup team this season, with several senior players participating in The Hundred tournament.

In his seven innings in the competition, Flintoff has scored 293 runs at an average of 73.25, making him Lancashire's third-highest run-scorer. He also represents England at the Under-19 level and previously scored a century for the England Lions against a Cricket Australia XI in early 2025.

Flintoff is among several sons of the 2005 England Ashes-winning team to be making their way in professional cricket. Archie Vaughan, a top-order batter and off-spin bowler, plays for Somerset, while Charlie Harmison, son of former fast-bowler Steve Harmison, is on the books at Durham. Rocky's older brother, Corey, also had a stint with Kent last summer.
