Richard Keys, the former Sky Sports presenter, is embracing his retirement from football broadcasting with a break on the Isle of Wight alongside his wife, Lucie Rose.

Keys, 69, concluded his 34-year career covering the Premier League by leaving his role with beIN Sports in Qatar at the end of the recent season. He had spent 13 years in the Middle East, working with his long-time broadcasting partner Andy Gray.

Keys announced his departure from beIN Sports in May, expressing to his former colleagues that they no longer needed him for World Cup coverage. He shared a message on X stating, "To everyone @beINSPORTS_EN. Have a wonderful WC guys. You don’t need me anymore. You’ve been the best for a long time now. Make it count. Make it memorable."

He and his wife, Lucie Rose, 37, recently married in June 2023. Keys is understood to have returned to the UK to live permanently with Rose. The couple shared photographs of their summer break, including a meal at The Hut in Colwell Bay, ahead of England's round of 16 World Cup match.

Keys' personal life has previously been a subject of public discussion. He announced his split from his ex-wife Julia after 36 years of marriage in 2016, when his relationship with Rose, a friend of their daughter Jemma, became public. His ex-wife later described the affair as devastating to her and their children.
