The New York Rangers have signed forward Oliver Bjorkstrand to a one-year contract worth $4.5 million, adding a player who has consistently surpassed 30 points over the last nine seasons. The deal was finalized on Wednesday.

Bjorkstrand, 31, is expected to strengthen the Rangers' middle-six forward group, an area in need of more consistent offensive production. Last season with Tampa Bay, he recorded 12 goals and 20 assists in 80 games, marking his lowest point total since the 2016-17 campaign when he spent significant time in the AHL.

This signing marks Bjorkstrand's fourth team in his 11-year NHL career. Over 704 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Seattle Kraken, and Tampa Bay Lightning, he has accumulated 184 goals and 232 assists, averaging 15 minutes and 26 seconds of ice time per game.
