Los Angeles Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie has launched an Inglewood Flag Football League as part of his community outreach efforts. The initiative, announced during his backpack drive and football camp at Caroline Coleman Stadium in Inglewood, aims to provide a platform for local youth.

The league will involve 240 students who will be provided with team jerseys. The Rams will fund the necessary equipment, including footballs and flags for participants, according to NFL.com.

McDuffie, a Southern California native, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, drawing parallels to his own childhood experiences with flag football. “The first sport I played when I was five years old was flag football. When I was a kid, I was out here doing these same camps,” McDuffie stated. “A lot of these kids will grow up together, play football together, be in high school together. You create a lot of bonds and a lot of memories when you’re out here.”

He added, “Being able to come back to Inglewood and be an inspiration to some of these kids, have them talk to me and ask me questions, is all I want to do. This is something that I developed the love to do, to be out in the community. I think sports are a way everybody can come together and do something bigger than themselves.”

This venture marks McDuffie's first charity effort with the Rams since being traded from the Kansas City Chiefs in the offseason. During his time with the Chiefs, McDuffie was known for his community involvement, including school visits and supply donations.

McDuffie is also set to make his debut with the Rams when the team opens its season against the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.
