Los Angeles Rams tight end Davis Allen was carted to the locker room with a possible concussion during the third quarter of the team's season-opening game against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night. The incident occurred at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after Allen caught a 13-yard pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford, securing a first down.

49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw made a hit on Allen along the sideline. Allen, who was the first of the Rams' five tight ends to record a reception this season, immediately went into the blue medical tent located behind the Rams' bench for evaluation. He later emerged but was taken to the locker room on a cart.

The Rams announced Allen was questionable to return to the game. The injury added to a challenging night for the Rams, who appeared sluggish in their matchup against their NFC West rival. The team arrived in Australia less than 24 hours before kickoff.

Safety Kam Curl also sustained an ankle injury and was listed as questionable to return. The injuries left the Rams shorthanded as they attempted to overcome jet lag and compete against the 49ers.
