The civil lawsuit filed against Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has been assigned a trial date for March 27, 2028. A Los Angeles County judge deemed the date firm, stating that continuances would require good cause. The trial is estimated to span approximately six days.
A final status conference in the case is scheduled for March 14, 2028, preceding the trial.
The lawsuit was initiated on March 25 by Madison Atiabi, who alleges Nacua bit her on the shoulder during a New Year's Eve celebration. According to the suit, the incident occurred in a sprinter van after Nacua allegedly made antisemitic remarks at a dinner.
Atiabi is seeking damages for gender violence, assault, battery, and negligence. Nacua, through his legal representation, has denied making any offensive remarks. He has acknowledged biting Atiabi but described the action as consensual "horseplay" rather than malicious.
Following the incident, Nacua entered a rehabilitation program. He has previously commented on the off-season headlines, referring to them as a learning experience and emphasizing the need for greater awareness of his conduct both on and off the football field.
