Mauricio Pochettino has been offered a contract extension by the United States Soccer Federation to manage the U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT) through the 2030 World Cup, according to The Athletic.
The 54-year-old Argentine's current deal is set to expire after the ongoing tournament, which the U.S. is hosting alongside Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Any decision regarding his future is expected to be made once the World Cup concludes.
Pochettino's tenure has seen the USMNT win Group D with victories over Paraguay and Australia. The team secured their place in the knockout stage, though they suffered a 3-2 loss to Turkey in their final group match on Thursday. Their next fixture is a round of 32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina scheduled for July 1 in San Francisco.
The team's performance has reportedly given American fans optimism about their competitive potential on the world stage.
Pochettino, who has previously managed Tottenham and Chelsea, is expected to attract interest from club teams once the World Cup is finished.
