Oregon Ducks running back Jordon Davison sustained a collarbone injury during fall camp, potentially sidelining him for the team's 2026 season opener, according to a report from 247Sports.
The injury is reportedly a re-break of a previous injury that caused Davison to miss the Ducks' College Football Playoff semifinal game last season. While there is initial hope within the team that he could return sooner, the current projection suggests a recovery period of six to eight weeks.
Davison, a sophomore, was a significant contributor in 2025, leading the Ducks with 667 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry and scored in 10 of the 14 games he played. With the departure of lead back Noah Whittington to the NFL, Davison was expected to form a key running back duo with Dierre Hill Jr., who recorded 656 yards and five touchdowns on 8.7 yards per carry last season.
The Oregon offense, which ranked second in the Big Ten in total yards (452.2 per game) and points (36.9 per game) in 2025, returns junior quarterback Dante Moore. The Ducks will begin their 2026 season at home against Boise State on September 5, followed by their Big Ten opener on the road against USC on September 26.
