Ollie Robinson delivered another stellar performance, taking eight wickets in the match and continuing his impressive run of form since his recall. Robinson now has 23 wickets in three Tests at an average of 8.34.
Jamie Smith recorded his best Test performance in a year, scoring 61 in the first innings under difficult conditions. His glovework behind the stumps has also reportedly improved.
Other notable performances included Jordan Cox, who scored 55 in the first innings while maintaining composure amidst falling wickets. Dan Lawrence contributed a useful 54 in the second innings, suggesting his batting skills are suited to his current role. Jofra Archer was effective in the first innings, taking three wickets, and his bouncer that dismissed Babar Azam in the second innings was reminiscent of his earlier career.
Josh Tongue played a key role by taking the wickets of Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique in the first innings, from which Pakistan did not recover. Tongue also improved his Test high score to 30 not out.
Ben Duckett scored a combined 18 runs across the two innings, and Emilio Gay was out for 31 in the second innings after an unlucky dismissal on a challenging pitch. Captain Joe Root fell lbw in both innings, marking the seventh time this summer he has been dismissed in that manner.
Gus Atkinson, part of England's pace attack, is currently struggling to take wickets, with only one scalp in the series so far. His 45 runs in the first innings, however, were a handy contribution with the bat.
