NRL star Connor Watson and his model girlfriend Kiana Flanet are expecting their first child together. The couple announced the news on Instagram, sharing black-and-white photographs against a red backdrop.
One image depicted the parents-to-be kissing while holding an ultrasound photo of their unborn baby. A second image showed a beaming Watson as Flanet held the ultrasound scan above them. "Half you half me," Flanet captioned the announcement.
The post was met with numerous congratulatory messages from friends and followers. Former NRL player Beau Ryan and influencer Tamika Fawcett were among those who offered well wishes. Watson responded to the support by commenting, "Thanks everyone."
The couple has not yet disclosed the baby's sex or expected due date. The announcement comes as Watson, who turned 30 in May, prepares for significant shifts in his playing career. He currently plays for the Sydney Roosters and has previously represented New South Wales in the State of Origin series. He made his first-grade debut in 2016 and played four seasons with the Newcastle Knights before returning to the Roosters.
Watson is scheduled to depart the Roosters at the conclusion of the current season. He is set to join the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2027 and will then link with the PNG Chiefs for their inaugural NRL campaign in 2028.
