The National Hockey League (NHL) and Fanatics have launched "Hometown Remix," a league-wide initiative featuring special edition uniforms, apparel, and headwear designed to celebrate the local culture of all 32 NHL teams. The program, developed over two years, aims to authentically represent the fans, fabric, and communities associated with each team.

According to NHL senior executive vice president Brian Jennings, the Hometown Remix program builds on the legacy of NHL sweaters by celebrating the unique identity of each market. Fanatics, which became the league's official on-ice uniform and authentic outfitter at the start of the 2024-25 season, collaborated with each club to incorporate elements of local history and culture into the designs.

The Florida Panthers, Chicago Blackhawks, and San Jose Sharks were the first teams to debut their new Hometown Remix jerseys on Monday night. Each team will wear their special edition uniforms multiple times throughout the remainder of the season.

Examples of the localized designs include the Chicago Blackhawks' jersey, which features a vivid green base, their current logo, gold shoulder patches, and four debossed stars on each sleeve, referencing the city flag. The Florida Panthers' jersey incorporates a remixed version of their throwback shoulder patch logo, inspired by graphic beach tees. Other teams are also showcasing unique elements, such as the Winnipeg Jets' aurora borealis pattern on the hem and the Boston Bruins' adoption of a brown jersey, a color not seen in over a century of their team history.

Dom Fillion, vice president of creative design for Fanatics, described the program as the most exciting initiative developed with the NHL since their partnership began. He highlighted the collaborative process with each club to ensure the designs felt authentic and personal to their respective cities and fan bases.

This initiative marks the first league-wide program under the NHL and Fanatics partnership. Fanatics has previously designed special edition uniforms for various NHL events, including the 4 Nations Face-Off, Winter Classic, Stadium Series, Heritage Classic, and upcoming All-Star festivities, as well as for team anniversaries.
