FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew players were involved in a near-altercation in the tunnel following their Major League Soccer match on Saturday night, with video capturing coaches, security, and police intervening to separate the teams. The incident occurred after the Crew secured a 2-1 victory over Cincinnati.

The confrontation on the field escalated in the closing moments of the game when FC Cincinnati midfielder Gerardo Valenzuela committed an aggressive challenge on Columbus Crew forward Taha Habroune, resulting in Habroune falling to the ground. This foul led to a scuffle between players from both sides, and Valenzuela was subsequently shown a red card for violent conduct.

Despite the on-field resolution, tensions remained high. Reports indicated that Columbus defender Mohamed Farsi and captain Sean Zawadzki had to be restrained by teammates and coaches from entering the visitor tunnel. Shortly after, the situation escalated further, leading to the scene captured on video where players from both teams exchanged heated words.

Columbus Crew head coach Laurent Courtois described the post-match events as "something stupid happened and then guys got a little bit heated." His counterpart, Mohamed Farsi, stated, "In the tunnel, nothing really happened. It's not the image that we want to show to young kids who watch us, but at the end of the day we try to protect our players from some vicious play like that, some dangerous plays."

This match was the second for both clubs since the end of the World Cup break and the resumption of the MLS regular season. The "Hell is Real" rivalry between FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew has a history of intense matchups, and Saturday night's events added another chapter to their contentious relationship.
