The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the midst of a six-game losing streak, having lost eight of their last 10 games and been swept in back-to-back series. However, MLB insider Jeff Passan stated on First Take that the team's current struggles are not a cause for concern.

"They are still going to go into the postseason as favorites to win the World Series because of the plethora of talent that they’ve got," Passan said. He recalled a similar seven-game losing streak in July 2025, after which the Dodgers went on to win the World Series.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts also expressed optimism following a 7-6 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. "I think the fight the players showed was really good. Of course, losing is frustrating and something you truly hate, but the wins will come again," Roberts said. He highlighted the team's comeback attempt in the eighth inning, which included a three-run homer from Max Muncy and a two-run drive from Shohei Ohtani, as evidence of resilience.

First baseman Freddie Freeman, who exited Wednesday's game early after being hit on the hand, acknowledged the team's recent performance but remained positive. "We have a great baseball team. We just haven’t played well the last week," Freeman said. "We’re going to take our positives. What the last couple innings looked like as an offense, hopefully we can carry that in. Our pitching’s been good. We just need to score more runs."

Despite the recent losses, the regular season is viewed by many as a precursor to the postseason for the Dodgers. Passan suggested that while continued losses could complicate their path to the World Series, the team should not be underestimated in the playoffs.

Shohei Ohtani has not made a pitching start for the Dodgers since early July.
