Mike Golic Sr. and Mike Golic Jr. are returning to ESPN Radio to host a new weekday program titled “The Golics.” The show is scheduled to air from 10 a.m. to noon ET, with its debut set for Aug. 3. This marks a significant return for Mike Golic Sr. to ESPN's weekday lineup after his departure in 2020.
The father-son pairing is rejoining the network under a multiyear agreement. Golic Sr. spent 25 years at ESPN from 1995 to 2020, a tenure that included the popular “Mike & Mike” show with Mike Greenberg and later “Golic & Wingo” with Trey Wingo. Golic Jr. remained with ESPN after his father’s exit but departed in 2022. He had been with the network from 2015 to 2022, working across radio, television, and digital platforms, and also called college football games.
"Reuniting with the Mikes Golic was a tremendous opportunity for our audience," Mike Foss, ESPN’s executive vice president and executive editor for sports news and entertainment, said in a statement. "They’ve been building chemistry together since 1989, and it’s a joy to bring their peerless partnership back to ESPN."
“The Golics” will follow the show “UnSportsmanLike,” hosted by Chris Canty, Evan Cohen, and Michelle Smallmon, which occupies the 6-10 a.m. ET slot. The new program will be available for live streaming on the ESPN App, with episodes also accessible on major podcast platforms after broadcast. Both Golics are also expected to appear on other ESPN shows and platforms.
Their return is part of a broader reshuffling of ESPN Radio's weekday schedule. "The Rich Eisen Show" will continue in its noon to 3 p.m. ET slot. "Matt & Myron," hosted by Matt Jones and Myron Medcalf, is moving from its weekend position to weekdays from 3-5 p.m. ET. "Freddie & Harry" will remain from 5-8 p.m., followed by "Amber & Ian" from 8-10 p.m., "GameNight" from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., and “SportsCenter All Night” overnight.
