Hall of Famer Michael Irvin declared it was "time to blow it all up" for the Dallas Cowboys' defense after the team suffered a demoralizing 33-30 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Irvin, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Cowboys, voiced his extreme disappointment in a video shared on his podcast's Instagram page.

"This is as bad as it gets," Irvin said. "Time to blow it all up… whatever you got going on defense, gotta blow it all up."

The Cowboys' defense had performed well for much of the game until the Cardinals made a pivotal quarterback change late in the third quarter. Gardner Minshew replaced starter Jacoby Brissett, sparking a rally that saw Arizona score on four consecutive possessions to end regulation and force overtime.

Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier was a key contributor, including a 63-yard touchdown run and a 52-yard carry that set up scores after Minshew entered the game. In overtime, kicker Chad Ryland secured the victory with a 42-yard field goal, overcoming a missed extra point in regulation that could have sealed the win.

Irvin's emotional reaction was captured while watching the game with former NFL players Willie McGinest Jr. and LeVeon Bell. The caption accompanying the video stated, "A last-second Cardinals touchdown, a missed extra point to force OT, and a heartbreaking finish. @michaelirvin88 went through every emotion watching the @dallascowboys."

At one point during regulation, with the Cowboys leading by six points and only 10 seconds remaining, Irvin was heard exclaiming "They gotta get rid of him," though it was unclear whom he was referring to.

Former Cowboys quarterback Ben DiNucci also expressed strong criticism of the team's performance. "This was absolutely embarrassing today," DiNucci said on CBS Sports HQ. "They stink. I’m lost for words, honestly. They have so much talent on both sides of the ball, and year after year, week after week, all we see is just letdowns from them. I’m not sure what needs to change."

DiNucci suggested that the team's effort was lacking and that leaders like quarterback Dak Prescott, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb need to address "outside noise" potentially affecting the locker room. He noted that the significant attention surrounding the Cowboys organization can sometimes be a distraction for players.

The Cowboys, now 3-5 on the season, are scheduled to play the Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis next Sunday.
