Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby declined an opportunity to join the Los Angeles Rams, a move that followed a trade agreement sending him to the Baltimore Ravens that ultimately collapsed. The Rams subsequently acquired Cleveland Browns defensive player of the year Myles Garrett.

The proposed trade that would have sent Crosby to the Ravens was reportedly called off in March due to health concerns. Following this development, the Rams emerged as a leading suitor for Crosby. Sources indicated that teams hoped for a bargain price in a potential deal, with the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and Dallas Cowboys also expressing interest.

However, Crosby, 29, publicly declared his intention to remain with the Raiders, even if it meant foregoing a potential move to a Super Bowl contender like the Rams. In March, he expressed his commitment to Las Vegas on social media, stating, "Everything Happens For A Reason. Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. Im A Raider. I’m Back. Run That S–t."

Nearly three months after the Ravens deal fell apart, the Rams successfully acquired Garrett. The Rams also bolstered their defensive line with the un-retirement of Aaron Donald. Garrett made his debut for the Rams in their recent loss to the 49ers in Australia, during which he did not record a quarterback hit or sack.

Crosby and the Raiders are set to begin their season on Sunday at home against the Miami Dolphins. Las Vegas is favored to win Klint Kubiak's coaching debut.
