Mitchell Marsh delivered a match-winning performance with both bat and ball, guiding Sunrisers Leeds to a five-run victory over Southern Brave in The Hundred men's competition at Headingley. This marks Sunrisers Leeds' first win of the 2026 campaign.

Sent in to bat, Sunrisers Leeds posted a formidable total of 187-5 from their 100 balls. Marsh was instrumental in their innings, scoring a rapid 69 runs off just 34 deliveries. He and opening partner Ryan Rickelton provided a strong start, allowing Sunrisers to reach 102 without loss by the halfway point. Marsh's aggressive batting included capitalizing on a costly over from Luke Wood that conceded 28 runs and featured four no-balls.

The momentum shifted when spinner Adil Rashid took three wickets in quick succession, including the crucial dismissal of Marsh. Rashid finished with figures of 3-21. Despite Rashid's efforts, Southern Brave struggled to contain Sunrisers' scoring.

In their chase, Southern Brave reached 182-5, falling just short of the target. Key contributions came from McKinney, who scored 44 off 23 balls, and Stubbs, who remained unbeaten on 42 off 20 balls. However, Sunrisers bowler Abrar took two wickets for 33 runs, helping to restrict the opposition.

Sunrisers Leeds began their 2026 season with a seven-wicket defeat against MI London but have now bounced back with this hard-fought win. Southern Brave, conversely, remains winless after their opening two matches of the season.
