Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has addressed speculation linking him to NFL head coaching positions, asserting his commitment to remaining with the Fighting Irish.
"I'm all-in. I've been all-in," Freeman told reporters on Tuesday. "I don't see myself being the head coach or coaching anywhere else. I plan on being here as long as I can."
Freeman, who was promoted to head coach in 2021 after a single season as defensive coordinator, has guided Notre Dame to a 43-12 record. The team reached the national championship game in 2024. Last season, the Fighting Irish finished the regular season with a 10-2 record but did not qualify for the College Football Playoff.
Heading into his fifth season, Notre Dame is projected by some to begin the season ranked No. 1 in the AP poll. The program has also seen its 2026 recruiting class ranked highly, is preparing to open a new training facility, and has reworked Freeman's contract, which could pay him up to approximately $12 million.
"If I do a good enough job and I'm able and wanted to be the head coach here, I want to stay the head coach here," Freeman added, indicating his focus remains on sustained success at Notre Dame.
