Manchester United has indicated that Mason Mount is not for sale this summer, countering Italian reports suggesting AC Milan is preparing a bid of approximately £21.5 million. According to sources, there are no ongoing discussions regarding the sale of the 27-year-old midfielder.

Mount himself is understood to have no intention of leaving Old Trafford. He has been engaged in an individual fitness program in Spain and is expected to rejoin his teammates for pre-season training, with the first group of players scheduled to return on July 9. His contract with United runs until the summer of 2027.

Mount joined Manchester United from Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £60 million. His tenure at the club has been marked by a series of injuries, limiting him to 72 appearances over three seasons. His most consistent period of play occurred under former United manager Ruben Amorim, who recently took charge of AC Milan.

Mount's versatility, capable of playing in a midfield pivot or on the wing in a 4-2-3-1 formation, makes him a valuable asset to the squad managed by Michael Carrick. The club has been focused on rebuilding its midfield this summer, particularly following the departure of Casemiro as a free agent. Additionally, concerns have arisen over Manuel Ugarte, who sustained a suspected torn ACL in his left knee during the World Cup.

Milan's reported interest comes as the Italian club appointed Amorim earlier this month. Amorim, who was previously sacked by United in January, is now managing Mount's former team. Manchester United has also been active in the transfer market, agreeing to a £39 million deal for Ederson from Atalanta and engaging in a competition with Tottenham Hotspur for West Ham's Mateus Fernandes, who is valued at £80 million. Ugarte's injury might impact the club's ability to acquire a third midfielder, further diminishing the likelihood of Mount's departure.
