Manchester City has reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of England midfielder Elliot Anderson, in a deal reported to be a British record.

The proposed transfer fee is expected to approach £130 million. This figure surpasses the £125 million Liverpool paid Newcastle for Alexander Isak last summer. An initial offer of £106 million was agreed upon last week, with add-ons contributing to the final figure.

Anderson is currently participating in the World Cup in the United States. Arrangements for his medical examination will be made during this period, though he is managing a minor glute concern that is not considered serious. Personal terms are expected to be settled without issue.

England manager Thomas Tuchel has indicated a willingness to facilitate summer transfers for players within his squad, which would include Anderson's move. A medical will be arranged for the player.
