Luka Doncic's technical foul, assessed with 1:12 remaining in the second quarter of the Dallas Mavericks' game against the Miami Heat on Monday, has been rescinded following a league review. The Mavericks secured a 138-117 victory in the contest.
Following the game, Doncic participated in his postgame news conference. When asked by a reporter why he received the technical foul, Doncic's eyes widened, he stood up, and he walked out of the room amid laughter from reporters. With the rescinded call, Doncic now has zero technical fouls on the season.
In the game against the Heat, Doncic recorded 42 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds. This marked his fourth 40-point performance in his last five games. He is currently averaging a league-leading 38.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game for the Mavericks, who hold a 6-2 record and are in fourth place in the Western Conference.
Heat player Giannis Antetokounmpo praised Doncic after the game, calling him "one of the best scorers to ever play this game, if not the best." Antetokounmpo added, "He's also an elite passer."
