Luka Doncic and his Los Angeles Lakers teammates recently concluded a four-day trip to Slovenia, Doncic's native country. During their excursion, the team visited a nightclub where they partied alongside Anja Jenko, a former Playboy cover model.
The exclusive venue reportedly had strict rules, including a ban on photos and videos and the covering of phone cameras. Slovenian news outlet Nedeljski dnevnik reported that while Doncic and other Lakers stars were present, they largely kept to themselves during the gathering. Jenko, a 34-year-old Ljubljana native, gained fame after appearing on a Playboy cover in 2014.
The Lakers' trip also included sightseeing in Ljubljana, visiting the court where Doncic began his basketball career, meeting fans, signing autographs, taking a boat trip, and playing golf in the city of Bled. Upon their return, player Jarred Vanderbilt commented on the trip, humorously expressing a desire for a Slovenian passport.
Doncic's international break comes as he is reportedly involved in a contentious legal dispute. A child support petition filed against him in Los Angeles County was dismissed last week. The mother of his two daughters, Anamaria Goltes, remains in Slovenia. Reports indicate Goltes is seeking approximately $50 million in Slovenia, with $40 million designated for herself and $10 million for their children.
Doncic and Goltes, who have been together since 2016, announced the end of their engagement in March, shortly after the birth of their second daughter, Olivia. In a statement, Doncic emphasized his commitment to his daughters' happiness and his efforts to be with them.
Doncic recently signed a three-year, $165 million contract with the Lakers and is considered a central figure in the team's rebuild following LeBron James' departure. The Lakers organization is also on the verge of a sale, with Joshua Kushner and Bob Iger reportedly agreeing to purchase the franchise from Mark Walter. Doncic has publicly expressed enthusiasm for the potential new ownership and is eager to begin working with them.
