The Los Angeles Lakers struggled from beyond the 3-point arc during the first half of their game against the Portland Trail Blazers, missing their initial 15 attempts.
However, Luka Dončić closed out the second quarter with a spectacular play, banking in a 61-foot shot from just inside the opposite 3-point line as time expired. This improbable buzzer-beater brought the crowd at Crypto.com Arena to its feet and cut the Lakers' deficit to 60-53 heading into halftime.
The Lakers' overall shooting performance from three-point range in the first half was dismal, as they converted only 4 of 23 attempts. Dončić's long-range make was a rare highlight in an otherwise cold shooting half for the team. This shot also follows a similar, though not quite as distant, buzzer-beater from Dončić earlier in the season on Oct. 21, when he hit a shot from beyond half court in a win against the Warriors.
