LaMelo Ball has been traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, a move that comes several months after he and his partner, model Ana Montana, welcomed their first child. The couple announced the birth of their son, LaOne, in January.
In addition to becoming parents, Ball and Montana have also launched "I Am Fertility," a platform and nonprofit organization aimed at supporting women undergoing fertility treatments and IVF journeys. The couple stated that welcoming LaOne has profoundly impacted their perspective on love and family.
"Welcoming LaOne into the world has changed our hearts in the best way," the couple told PEOPLE. "Family has always meant everything to us, but becoming parents has given us an entirely new perspective on love, purpose, legacy and what truly matters most."
The nonprofit aims to provide education, emotional support, and resources for women navigating reproductive health challenges. Montana shared that her personal experience with IVF inspired the creation of "I Am Fertility" as a dedicated space for women.
Ball and Montana have been in a relationship since 2021, publicly confirming their partnership in 2023. Montana is 12 years older than Ball.
Ball's trade to the Timberwolves involves a package including Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three future first-round pick swaps, and three second-round picks. The Timberwolves are seeking to improve their roster after a second-round playoff exit in the previous season.
