The Minnesota Vikings have signed veteran edge rusher Kyle Van Noy, reuniting him with defensive coordinator Brian Flores. Van Noy previously played under Flores and won two Super Bowl championships with the New England Patriots.

The 35-year-old veteran signed with the Vikings after a visit Tuesday, according to reports. Van Noy spent the 2024 season with the Baltimore Ravens, where he recorded a career-high 12.5 sacks. His career began after being drafted in the second round by the Detroit Lions in 2014.

Van Noy has also played for the Miami Dolphins, where he played under Flores, and the Los Angeles Chargers. His addition addresses the Vikings' need for depth and experience at the edge rusher position after trading Pro Bowl player Jonathan Greenard during the draft.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell may also be looking to add Van Noy’s leadership and mentorship qualities to the team. The signing stabilizes the team's pass-rush rotation, which also includes first-year starter Dallas Turner and Andrew Van Ginkel.

Flores' defense last season ranked third in total yards allowed and seventh in points against. The addition of Van Noy is expected to bolster the pass rush as the Vikings prepare for their Week 1 home opener against the Green Bay Packers.
