Klay Thompson, a highly accomplished shooter and future Hall of Famer, has identified LeBron James as the most challenging player he has encountered on the basketball court. Thompson shared this sentiment during a recent Twitch stream, reflecting on his professional career.
Thompson and his Golden State Warriors teammates faced James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in four consecutive NBA Finals from 2015 to 2018. This period marked a significant era of dominance for both franchises in their respective conferences.
"We saw him for four straight Finals, and I haven’t seen anyone control the game as well as he does," Thompson stated. "He can do everything on the court. He has no weaknesses."
During their Finals matchups, James led the Cavaliers to an NBA championship in 2016, overcoming a 3-1 series deficit against the Warriors team that held a then-record 73-9 regular-season record. This victory is considered a pivotal moment in James' legacy, solidifying his status as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
Thompson, who is entering the final year of his contract with the Dallas Mavericks, has achieved considerable success throughout his career. He was a key member of the Warriors team that reached six NBA Finals, securing four championships. Alongside Stephen Curry, Thompson formed the renowned "Splash Brothers" duo, celebrated for their exceptional shooting abilities.
Over his 11-season career, Thompson has averaged 19.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.9 steals per game. He has maintained shooting percentages of 45.3% from the field and 41.3% from beyond the arc.
