England striker Harry Kane stated that his playing style is fundamentally different from Norway's Erling Haaland, making direct comparisons impossible despite both being high-level goalscorers. Kane described Haaland as a "machine" and a "beast" with an incredible physical presence and a top-level finishing ability.

"I know we’re both seen as strikers, but two totally different positions, if I’m being honest," Kane said. "Erling’s been incredible. Physically he’s a machine, he’s a beast, he’s finishing at the highest level and obviously his goalscoring record speaks for itself."

Kane sees himself as a player who likes to be more involved in the build-up play and touch the ball more, while also capable of playing as a pure number nine. "I see myself as a different player. Although I score the same goals, I like to touch the ball a little more, be involved in play a little bit more, but also can play as an out-and-out [No.] 9. I don’t think it’s one to compare ourselves. I respect him a lot as a player, as a fellow professional."

Kane also discussed England's strategy for containing Haaland in their upcoming World Cup quarterfinal match against Norway. He noted that Haaland's impact can be significant with few touches, suggesting that controlling Norway's other players, such as Martin Ødegaard, Sander Berge, and Alexander Sørloth, will be crucial.

"Really dangerous team," Kane said of Norway. "Some fantastic players. I think really well coached, both with the ball, without the ball. Obviously it’s our job to try and find weaknesses in their structure. We want to try and impose our game tomorrow but we’re playing a team with a lot of great players who are riding this wave."

Regarding a recent endorsement from Donald Trump, Kane recalled playing golf with the former president about 18 months prior in Palm Beach. "When the president invites you somewhere, it was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him. Played golf with him. He golfs pretty good to be honest," Kane commented. "I hope I can play golf as well as him when I’m [his] age. Pretty unique experience. Was grateful he invited me to play for sure."

In team news, Kane confirmed that Marc Guehi, Declan Rice, and Reece James participated in England's training session on Friday, recovering from their respective injuries. Jordan Henderson remains the only player unavailable for England due to an arm injury that required surgery.
