England captain Harry Kane has dismissed reports of internal discord between star player Jude Bellingham and manager Thomas Tuchel, labeling such rumors as media attempts to fracture the team ahead of their World Cup semifinal against Argentina. Kane asserted that the team's unity is the reason for their progress.

The controversy arose following England's hard-fought 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway in the quarterfinals. Despite the win, Tuchel expressed dissatisfaction with the team's performance, describing it as "sloppy" and noting "a lot of technical mistakes." Bellingham, who scored both of England's goals, responded immediately after the match, questioning Tuchel's critique given the challenging conditions and caliber of the opposition.

"When you are playing a game like that and to be asked a question five minutes after the final whistle, and he didn't really know what had been said, what do you want Jude to say?" Kane stated, defending Bellingham's immediate reaction. "I think it's easy to try and create this division. It seems like an English mentality, an English thing to do at these major tournaments, but it's the complete opposite."

Kane emphasized that the media is attempting to sow division, particularly at major tournaments. He also defended Tuchel's passionate approach, stating that the manager's genuine emotions are appreciated by the team.

"He wears his heart on his sleeve and people appreciate that," Kane said of Tuchel. "When he talks, it is never scripted. That is what makes him who he is. When it just comes naturally, you believe in that."

Kane reiterated that the collective spirit of the squad, including players, coaches, and staff, is the foundation of their success. "The group is where we are because of our complete togetherness, not just the players, the coach and the staff," he added. "Things sometimes get made out to be more than they are."

England is set to face Argentina in the World Cup semifinals in Atlanta. The team aims to focus on the upcoming match and silence any external noise surrounding their internal dynamics.
