New York Mets outfielder Juan Soto was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday due to a left calf strain, marking another setback for the team this season. Eric Wagaman has been recalled from Triple-A to fill Soto's roster spot.

Soto experienced what was initially described as “left calf soreness” and was removed from Friday's game against the Dodgers in the sixth inning. This current injury is distinct from the right calf strain that caused him to miss 15 games in April.

Despite the team's struggles, Soto has been a significant contributor, leading the National League with a .408 on-base percentage and a .947 OPS.
