Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is venturing into the entertainment industry with the launch of his new production company, Out of Pocket Studios. The company is set to produce both entertainment and commercial projects, marking a significant business move for the NFL star.
Out of Pocket Studios is an extension of an existing partnership between Allen and Skydance Sports, a subsidiary of Paramount. Lindsey Cohen, who previously held roles at DAZN and CAA, will manage the day-to-day operations as president of strategy.
"Skydance Sports has given me a platform to turn the ideas I care most about into something real," Allen stated in a press release. "We're excited to share what Out of Pocket Studios has created so far, and for everyone to see what we're building from here."
Allen's foray into production aligns with a trend among athletes who are increasingly establishing production companies to develop content, following in the footsteps of figures like Tom Brady and Travis Kelce.
While Allen is married to actress Hailee Steinfeld, the studio's initial projects appear to have a sports and community focus. One of the first productions is a Labor Day CBS special titled "American Tailgate," featuring music and celebrity guests. Out of Pocket is also producing Kyle Brandt's weekly football analysis program for Paramount+.
Another planned series, "The Buffalo Miracle," will document the actions of a McDonald's manager who opened a restaurant on Christmas Eve during a severe blizzard in 2022 to assist stranded residents.
Amidst his new business ventures, Allen is also preparing for the upcoming NFL season with the Buffalo Bills. The team is considered among the favorites in the AFC and is scheduled to open its season on September 13 in Houston.
