The New York Giants are set to open their 2026-27 preseason schedule when they host the Minnesota Vikings on August 15. This game marks the first appearance for the Giants under new head coach John Harbaugh, who was hired in January 2026 to succeed Brian Daboll.

Over the past eight months, Harbaugh has worked with general manager Joe Schoen to assemble a new roster and coaching staff. Harbaugh brings a Super Bowl title and 193 wins from his previous tenure as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens.

The preseason game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The game will be broadcast on NBC in the New York market and ESPN Unlimited for out-of-market viewers. It can also be streamed via DIRECTV, which offers a free trial period.

Harbaugh has remained noncommittal regarding the playing time of starters, including second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart, in the preseason opener. "I plan on not talking about who’s going to play," Harbaugh stated in his final press conference before the game. "That’s what I plan on doing."

Following the preseason opener, the Giants' 2026 schedule includes additional preseason matchups against the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets before their regular season begins against the Dallas Cowboys on September 13.
