New York Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq is looking forward to Sunday's matchup against Travis Kelce, whom he described as a gold standard at the position.

Sadiq, whom the Jets drafted with the 16th overall pick this year, met Kelce during a predraft visit with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Jets selected Sadiq 13 picks before the Chiefs' selection.

"Like a lot of guys, I kind of obviously grew up watching him," Sadiq said of Kelce, a 14-year veteran and future Hall of Famer. "He’s done a lot for the tight end position with the kind of pass catcher he is. We’re obviously a little different body-wise, but the way he catches the ball, you can always use that as an example of what to try to get to. I’m excited to see him and be on the same field.”

Last season, the Jets used a second-round pick on tight end Mason Taylor. Sadiq joins Taylor in the team's tight end room as the Jets aim to develop their receiving options at the position.
