Ireland's lineup for Friday night's Nations Championship fixture against Argentina at Aviva Stadium features notable changes in the forward pack. Nick Timoney, Craig Casey, and Sean Jansen are set to start, with experienced players Jamison Gibson Park and Josh van der Flier positioned on the bench.

The absence of captain Caelan Doris and British and Irish Lion Jack Conan due to injury paved the way for Connacht's Sean Jansen to earn a starting spot at number eight. Jansen, who made a try-scoring debut against Japan in July, will be joined by Timoney and Ryan Baird in the back row. Timoney's inclusion marks his ninth consecutive Test appearance, though many have been as a replacement.

Scrum-half Jamison Gibson-Park, considered a key performer in recent seasons, will start from the bench after returning from a groin injury sustained early in Leinster's season. Craig Casey will partner fly-half Sam Prendergast, who has recovered from a wrist injury, in the half-back positions.

In the midfield, Robbie Henshaw will wear the 13 jersey due to Garry Ringrose's hamstring problem, partnering Stuart McCloskey. Wing Mack Hansen, prop Andrew Porter, and Ryan Baird are also set to start, returning after missing previous fixtures due to injury.

Andrew Porter's return at loose-head prop is a significant boost, as is the front-row combination of hooker Dan Sheehan, who will captain the side in Doris's absence, and tight-head Tadhg Furlong. Furlong is available for selection after being cleared by a disciplinary committee.

James Ryan will be a replacement, alongside Van der Flier and Gibson-Park. Other replacements include Ronan Kelleher, Tom O'Toole, Sam Illo, Ciaran Frawley, and Bundee Aki. Tadhg Beirne and Joe McCarthy are selected as the starting locks.

Argentina, under coach Felipe Contepomi, has made 12 changes to their squad from their last outing. Juan Cruz Mallia returns at full-back for his first cap since November 2025. Los Pumas are aiming for their first away victory against Ireland.
