Inter Milan has signaled its intention to bid £30 million for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, according to reports. However, Liverpool is reportedly seeking a minimum of £35 million for the 25-year-old, who has one year remaining on his contract.
Liverpool previously rejected an offer of £21.75 million from the Italian club for Jones. Inter's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, acknowledged earlier in the summer that the club was monitoring Jones's situation, stating, "Curtis Jones - we are paying attention to him. We didn't hide. We understand what the developments will be."
Jones has been considered a squad player at Anfield in recent seasons, often playing behind midfielders such as Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, and Florian Wirtz. This upcoming season will be the first under new manager Andoni Iraola, who succeeded Arne Slot.
Liverpool is also engaged in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential deal for Bradley Barcola and is evaluating other squad positions. The club has also received inquiries for several fringe players who impressed during their tour in the USA, including Luke Chambers, Lewis Koumas, Calum Scanlon, and Ifeanyi Ndukwe.
Last summer, Liverpool invested over £450 million in new signings, including Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike. However, the team struggled to replicate its earlier success, finishing fifth in the league and only narrowly securing Champions League qualification. The club has already seen departures of key players such as Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate. New additions for the upcoming campaign include centre-half Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais and left winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna.
