FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented the inaugural Super Bowl-style gold rings to Spain shortly after their World Cup final victory. Spain secured their second World Cup title with a 1-0 win over Argentina in extra time, with Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal in the 106th minute at MetLife Stadium.

Ahead of the final, FIFA had announced the creation of 'bespoke championship rings,' with 30 intended for the victors in New Jersey. Infantino fulfilled this promise shortly after the match concluded, being pictured handing a ring to Spain's captain, Rodri. He was also seen in the locker room with players like Lamine Yamal and Pedro Porro, distributing replica World Cup trophies.

FIFA stated that the rings would feature an image of the World Cup trophy on one side, with the other side customized to reflect the winning team's identity. Details for Spain's specific ring customization are still pending.

A total of 2,026 rings have been manufactured. Of these, 1,996 are slated for sale to fans, reportedly at a price of $148,000 (£110,000) each. Championship rings are a well-established tradition in American sports, most notably awarded to the annual Super Bowl champions.

According to FIFA's statement, each ring will be individually numbered, custom-fitted, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The captain and head coach of the winning team receive temporary rings immediately after the final, with the 30 official rings for the team to be customized and presented later.

Elsewhere, former US President Donald Trump was also present, participating in the trophy presentation ceremony. Trump, who was reportedly booed by some fans, joined Infantino on stage to hand out awards to match officials and players. He presented the World Cup trophy to Spain's captain Rodri. Trump also awarded silver medals to Argentina's players, including Lionel Messi, and presented several individual awards to Spain's players, such as the Young Player of the Tournament, Golden Glove, and Golden Ball awards.
