Indiana University's football program has secured a historic commitment from five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales, announced Friday on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.” Sales, a highly touted prospect from Indianapolis, chose the Hoosiers over prominent programs including Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU. If he officially signs in December, Sales will be the first five-star high school recruit to join the Indiana football team.

Sales described Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti as a coach who is direct and honest. "He's going to keep it real with you. He's not going to sit there and tell you what you want to hear," Sales said. "It just clicked instantly. I don’t want [a] guy that’s going to sit there and tell me what I want to hear and just give me bulls–t. I want to work for everything."

Ranked as ESPN's 18th overall prospect and fourth among receivers in the 2027 class, Sales is also rated by 247Sports as the No. 13 overall prospect and the top receiver in the 2027 cycle. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound receiver played for Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis. In his junior season, he recorded 37 receptions for 794 yards and nine touchdowns, in addition to 56 tackles as a two-way player.

This recruitment success follows a period of significant turnaround for the Indiana program under Coach Cignetti, which recently achieved its first football national title in January. Sales is set to join other wide receiver recruits Branden Sharpe and Jordan Carrasquillo in the 2027 class.
