Actor Hugh Jackman has shared his strong interest in acquiring a stake in the English soccer club Norwich City, positioning himself to potentially rival his friend Ryan Reynolds, who co-owns Wrexham AFC.
Jackman, known for his role as Wolverine, confirmed his keenness to discuss a potential investment in Norwich, a club with historical ties to his mother’s hometown. He was prompted about following Reynolds's path into football club ownership during a recent interview promoting his new movie, "The Death of Robin Hood."
Norwich and Wrexham currently compete in the same league, the English second-tier Championship. Norwich boasts a more extensive historical pedigree, having last competed in the Premier League four years ago and notably eliminating Bayern Munich from the UEFA Cup in 1993.
Jackman expressed his support for Reynolds's endeavors with Wrexham but affirmed his own allegiance to Norwich, affectionately referred to by its fans as "The Canaries" due to the team's distinctive yellow and green colors.
Both Norwich and Wrexham are anticipated to be strong contenders for promotion to the Premier League in the upcoming season. Jackman highlighted the team's positive trajectory, noting the impact of Belgian coach Philippe Clement, who was appointed in November.
