Hibs secured a memorable 2-1 victory over rivals Hearts at Hampden Park, marking manager Marink Reedjik's first win in charge and booking their place in the Premier Sports Cup final.

The win came after a challenging start to the season for Hibs, who had dropped to the foot of the Premiership table prior to this semi-final clash. They will now face Rangers in the final on December 13.

Hearts took an early lead in the fourth minute through Claudio Braga, who headed home a corner. However, Hibs responded strongly, dominating the remainder of the first half. Martin Boyle equalized in the 19th minute after being set up by a precise flick from Jamie Elding. Just before halftime, Jamie McGrath scored the go-ahead goal, stabbing home a rebound after a shot was blocked on the line.

Despite Hearts increasing the pressure in the second half, with Braga and Laurent Mendy creating chances, Hibs defended resolutely to preserve their lead. Efforts from Thibault Klidje to extend Hibs' advantage were ultimately unsuccessful.

The victory marks a significant moment for Reedjik, whose team delivered a brave and brilliant performance. It was also a historic occasion for Hibs, who had lost their previous four encounters with Hearts at Hampden dating back to 2006. The win means Hearts' wait for a League Cup title since 1962 continues.
