Hibernian manager Marink Reedijk has stated that his team is significantly improved and prepared to challenge Rangers in the upcoming Premier Sports Cup Final.

Reedijk's confidence stems from his team's 2-1 semi-final victory over Hearts, a historic win at Hampden Park that marked his first victory there as manager of the Easter Road club. The team came from behind after Hearts' Claudio Braga scored early, with goals from Martin Boyle and Jamie McGrath securing the win. Reedijk praised his players for their performance, particularly their ability to dominate possession and create chances in the first half, and their togetherness, work rate, and desire in the second half.

"This is where we made a big step today," Reedijk said after the match. He emphasized that this victory was not the first sign of the team buying into his vision, noting that glimpses of their potential were visible in previous matches despite a lack of positive results due to individual errors. "However, today it did. So, it is not the first sign, but it is the first performance with a result."

The manager, who admitted to being moved by the fans' rendition of "Sunshine on Leith" post-match, believes that his team's progression, coupled with a solid plan and idea, will make them a difficult opponent for Rangers. "And I think if we build on what we are doing now, keep on going - it will have ups and downs - I know I have a really good belief that we also can do something in the final," he stated.

The Premier Sports Cup Final is scheduled for December 13. Hibernian are aiming to win the trophy for the first time since 2007.
