Henry Pollock, the 21-year-old England back row, is keeping his options open regarding his future, stating he is "open to new opportunities" as contract negotiations with Northampton Saints continue. Pollock's current deal is set to expire at the end of the upcoming season. He has recently added boxing promoter Eddie Hearn to his advisory team, who has publicly suggested Pollock is a "seven-figure player."

Pollock expressed his gratitude towards Northampton, his boyhood club, acknowledging the significant role it has played in his development. "Northampton's been so great to me, I've been here my whole career and they've made me who I am. For me to stay here would be so special," he said. However, he also emphasized the importance of assessing all possibilities due to the short nature of a professional sports career. "I'm so young so I think it's only right that I assess those options and find the best decision for myself," Pollock stated. "I think for me, you almost have to be quite selfish in that aspect, think what's right for you."

The landscape of domestic transfers in English rugby is complicated by salary cap rules, which limit the financial flexibility for moves between Premiership clubs under 'marquee' player designations. This suggests that a lucrative move to a club in France or Japan could be a financially attractive option for Pollock. Such a move, if starting in the 2027-28 season, would not preclude him from England Rugby World Cup selection next autumn. However, playing overseas would make him ineligible for the England national team and he would forfeit his central contract.

Pollock also indicated a desire to experience different cultures. "I definitely want to go and live in different countries, explore new sports, explore new avenues," he said. He is currently consulting with his management team to evaluate his choices.

Despite Pollock's openness to exploring international offers, Northampton Saints reportedly remain confident in securing an extension. The club is said to have made an offer that would significantly increase Pollock's annual salary. The Saints are navigating complex contract situations with several young stars from their title-winning squad, including fly-half Fin Smith, who has already agreed to a new deal, and wing Tommy Freeman, who is also in line for an improved contract. Scrum-half Archie McParland and prop Emmanuel Iyogun are also priorities for the club. Phil Dowson, director of rugby at Northampton, commented on the ongoing negotiations, saying, "We're getting closer. As you can imagine, it's complex. There's a few moving parts that we need to put together, but I'm hopeful. As I said before, he wants to stay and we want to keep him."
